Founded
in 1980 by Bronnie Kupris, the
Gallery of Wearable Art has enjoyed 25 years of creating
unforgettable, one-of-a-kind
show stopping gowns and evening jackets and coats.
This website
shows highlights from the current collection. There is a
list of forthcoming shows and an archive of recent work and
a news section showing who has been wearing Gallery. If

Throughout the
years The Gallery maintained an “on street” presence
first in Soho, then on the upper East Side. Now Bronnie has
made a major change. Having closed her retail outlet, Bronnie
has moved her studio and sewers to her landmarked Chelsea
townhouse.
Bronnie is now focused on creating one of a kind modern heirloom
jackets and coats for both day and evening. As ever, her trademark
is to integrate antique textiles and trims making each item a
true timeless unique work of art.
Over the years, Gallery has traditionally been favored by clients
who want to make a dramatic entrance or whose taste is somewhat
unconventional.
During her two
decade history she has created bridal and evening attire
in everything from Elizabethan to Mod, Victorian to
roaring twenties, Edwardin to 40’s Harlowesque. Our
brides have walked the aisles in red, fuschia, orange and
silver in
addition
to ivory and white. Her jackets and coats embrace the same
sensibility to historic influence.
While her focus will be primarily on jackets and coats, gowns
will still be available by special order.
